SUN’s expertise encompasses navigating constraints, evaluating alternatives, managing risks, and streamlining project execution. We excel at speaking to all verticals in a project. This allows us to deliver projects that meet budgets and schedules. We have vast experience in Federal compliance standards, including Buy America, Buy America (BABA), Foreign Entities of Concern (FOEC), and Davis-Bacon and Related Acts (DBRA) for agencies such as the EPA, DOE, DOW and FAA.
As consultants, SUN partners with manufacturers aiming to enter the US market, providing value through industry insights, comprehensive research, supply chain support, and product and business development services. Cybersecurity and asset optimization are integral to our approach across all projects.
Our "All of the Above" approach includes:
Our mission is to create energy solutions and train the next generation of the energy workforce.

SUN analyzed their energy usage and Real-Time Pricing tariffs to model out the DER Solutions. SUN developed the requirements for the RFP and worked with our client to host a site visit for potential bidders.
SUN worked with Housing Sustainability Advisors to provide additional project management support and energy analysis for completing multiple systems in GA, SC, and TN. SUN optimized the existing systems to provide maximum savings for the owner.
SUN provides Go-To-Market consulting for Swiss Sodium-Ion battery manufacturer, Phenogy. SUN assisted with setting up their U.S. headquarters in Columbia, SC, and created a strategy and timeline for meeting BABA (Build America, Buy America), Domestic content, and FEOC (Foreign Entity of Concern) compliance.
Our work includes market and competitor analysis, identifying manufacturing supply sources for BESS containers, EMS, BMS, inverter integration, selecting manufacturing sites, and financial modeling.
SUN collaborates with Joules AI to enhance its energy optimization tool, focusing on AI modeling and integration for controllable facilities and distributed energy resources. Our role covers marketing, sales, and process integration.
We designed a $28 million solar carport (3.7MW DC-coupled), 10 MWH BESS, EMS, and site upgrades. SUN developed the RFP, assessed proposals, and served as the owner’s engineering representative throughout construction (completion: Dec 2027), leading both integration and cybersecurity efforts for new energy assets.
Designed energy efficiency improvements for a large church in Columbia, SC, lowering energy costs by 20%. Solar systems were tailored for each building to fully offset remaining expenses. SUN acts as the owner’s representative during upgrades and installation, evaluating vendor designs, bids, and providing management recommendations. The total project cost was $1.3 million.

For the Community Power Accelerator Prize, SUN was among 25 national winners out of 600 teams, developing a community solar model compatible with current state and utility regulations. SUN advanced to Phase 2 as one of 13 teams, working alongside local utilities, non-profits, and municipal hosts to deliver repeatable solutions. SUN also collaborated with Mrs. Kirsten Lackstrom of the South Carolina Office of Resilience (SCOR) on promoting the model for EPA’s Solar For All grant implementation. Despite the federal funding withdrawal, SUN fostered productive relationships with SCOR and assisted other teams in achieving project success.

Emerging as one of 60 national winners out of over 700 competitors. During Phase 1, SUN created a scalable resilience model involving solar, storage, and EV charging. In Phase 2, SUN completed construction of a microgrid with a solar canopy, BESS, and EV chargers in Georgetown, SC, collaborating closely with municipal authorities.
